This course provides students with an understanding of the major concepts involved in Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). The course will begin with a review of computer networking. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify and explain the various components which make up a WLAN, identify the major issues and challenges surrounding wireless networks and describe the wireless LAN architecture. The course will conclude with a review of emerging technologies which are likely to impact the use of wireless networks in the near future.
